Packager: Protect Your Media

DRM Content protection starts with encrypting the content with a content key. There are several free tools available that can do this, but each tool is tailored to a specific format or set of file formats. As there are several popular content formats in use today, ExpressPlay recommends three primary tool sets for use with ExpressPlay (the ExpressPlay Packaging Tools), one for each major content format:

• Bento4 Tools for DASH, Smooth and MP4
• Apple HLS Tools for HTTP Live Streaming
• ExpressPlay TS Tools for BBTS (Marlin-specific format)
